Having already seen it's world premiere in Beijing this past January, Akram Khan's new work Bahok will hit the stage at the New York City Center April 23-27, and Sadler's Wells June 11-14.
The show is a collaboration by Khan and the National Ballet of China. The score is provided by Nitin, and is his and Khan's fourth project together. Meaning "carriers" in Bengali, Bahok "explores the ways in which the body carries national identity and a sense of belonging."
