    Aftershock.......Anyone?????

Oh come on!!! I was not the only one there, for heaven's sake!!! The Ballroom was so packed out I had to make do with a very comfy sofa, away from all the action! At least one other person who was at the Aftershock gig must surely visit this forum.....???

Well, anyway, I wasn't able to stick around for the whole performance but enjoyed what I could hear. It must be nerve-racking enough, even for a seasoned old pro' like Nitin (Wink), to perform with the same ol' crowd - for the Aftershock participants, having never worked together before, to come up with completely fresh material between them AND perform it live, all  in such a short space of time, must be nothing short of courageous! How on earth did they manage to pick themselves up off the floor after their first encounter with Mr. S.????

Beverly, if you're passing this way, continuing with the 'cute' I'm going to attempt adding a picture for you....

..... I appear to have failed....shall try that again....

    'ickle fluffy kitty

Awwwweee...... choochy ickle fella, eh? Wierd 'Laurie Anderson' thing going on with kitty's nose though.... do you think they used one diode or two and.... HEY!!!! WHO STOLE ICKLE KITTY'S EARS????

     Buga,

I think you have your fauna somewhat confused - Laurie Anderson wrote about the monkey's paw and not kitty's nose:-

"But Nature's got rules and Nature's got laws
And if you cross her look out!
    It's the monkey's paw"

    Glad you enjoyed Aftershock ......

You mean, you don't  remember Laurie's "O Superman"???

       o soooooperrrrrrmaaaaaannnnn

Looks like some wicked form of radioactive plaque build-up, I know...... incidently, looking again at the kitty picture..... all you can see is it's head..... is that one of those carnivorous, kitty-eating, tea towels do you think?  Actually none of this is exactly Nitin-related is it!  Hmmmm........ Nitin, you remember Laurie Anderson's "O Superman", don't you?

Buga, please tell us more about the Aftershock show? Was there a particular highlight for you? Any of the new artists blow your mind?

(and thanks for the "cute" kitty Smile)

    Re: Aftershock.......Anyone?????

OK Bev', well I was dreading writing this reply as I couldn't recall much beyond the beatbox guy and the rasping flute (very much put me in mind of Algerian Rai...which could only be a good thing!) and ofcourse, I couldn't see anyone from where I was sitting but, at least I could hear them - something that would have been impossible over the din of chattering, had I chosen to stand on the dancefloor. (Are people that ignorant in Canada?)  Anyway,  before writing, I took a peak at Moder's post and hopefully Moder will do the same with this one because I struck gold with a MySpace search and found a page devoted to that very evening.... Moder, you will love it! Some of those who played are listed in the "Friends" section though I hasten to add that not all of the "Friends" took part - Thelonious for example - Wow!! I thought that genius was long gone!!! So, anyway,  there's even a jukebox with the aforementioned beatbox v flute track!

    Enjoy!!!

    Re: Aftershock.......Anyone?????

Never mind that - Laurie's disappeared....perhaps she was just .....too scarey!!! Calme - How the hell ARE you, you mischievious little madam!  Or, as my auntie in Jamaica wrote on last year's christmas card, "Why the silence?"  (blooming nerve of the woman - she never writes any other time of the year!) I know, come to think of it, that's a tad cheeky coming from me but....

............Anyway, stick around a bit won't you!   Uh-oh, I almost forgot to keep it 'relevant' .......Nitin.....what have you done with Laurie?

    Re: Aftershock.......Anyone?????

I still find the cat more scary (feral even?) than Laurie Anderson.  I don't remember the picture, Buga, although I remember Laurie appearing on TV with a tin robot.  Not my idea of superman......

Beverly, hope you have a good break - mine's not for a month yet.  After this week, I could do with one.

Exits singing V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N - in the summer time ......

Oh my! Laurie's back again.... maybe it was just my imagination that she'd disappeared.... it has been a stressful week for me, one way or another!!! Indifferent Talking of 'reappearing'..... Nuwanda....I noticed that you were loitering on the forum last night..... perhaps Beverly had second thoughts about trusting us to behave and asked you to keep an eye on us!  Hmmm...... could this be the start of the website's very own Big Brother Conspiracy Theory......? Maybe.......Wink

Laurie definitely disappeared .... though when I noticed it was at work, and our computers don't always support Flash - I get into the site from the log in page rather than the front page because of this.  Anyway with the slow speed of the connection tonight, I'm not going to loiter.

    Pester, pester, pester!!!!

....No, not you Rosemary! I'm referring to a certain cheeky madam who has asked me to add an avatar!

Yes, Rhian, YOU!!!  Anyway.... I tried using a picture I took at my allotment but, well let's just say, when shrunken down to fit the avatar box, only the blotches of green hinted that it was some distorted image of plantlife.  I was gutted!  So, I thought I'd try a drawing instead.... in reality, not the clearest image in possession and yet, when re-sized down to postage stamp dimensions..... it actually looks better that way!! Anyway, you're stuck with it for the time being!  At least until I locate my beach landscape pictures....

    Re: Pester, pester, pester!!!!

I'm sorry you think two encouraging requests is pestering..... Confused ...  It seems a bit like a cat on a skateboard? It also looks a bit like it's wearing a cape. Perhaps it is a super figure of the cat world or is it a wise, watching feline figure or just a proud pet....?
