    Chords for 'The Boatman' here...

    Hi, I'm back again with more musical reverse engineering - this time it's 'The Boatman' (for Xavi)...

    There are two sequences of chords in this tune, and because the individual plucking can be made out and the chords themselves are fairly complicated (I don't know what half of them are called myself) I've decided just to write out the notes.

    NB Any rising series of notes (i.e. getting higher in pitch) is underlined, and the slashes signify a new bar - I'm sorry I don't know how to write tablature!

    Sequence 1:
    D A D F# / B F# B F# D B F# B / G D A C# A D A / D A D F# / D A D F# D A D A / D A D F#

    Sequence 2:
    D A D A D A D A / B F# B F# D B E D / G D A C# F# E A B / E B F# G G D A C# / D A D F#

    For the most part (I think), sequence 1 and 2 come one after the other.





    If you want a grossly simplified set of chords instead then try this:

    Sequence 1:
    Dmaj / Bmin / Gmaj / Dmaj / Dmaj / Dmaj

    Sequence 2:
    Dmaj / Bmin / Gmaj F#min / Emin Gmaj / Dmaj
