I was able to catch your performances at the Electric Proms this year on the BBCi Player. I found them wonderful and I loved the string backing, especially with Natty singing.

May you perhaps know where it might be able to get a copy of the video of your performances?

I think a lot of us feel the same way about having a permanent record of the Electric Proms performance.  I contacted a friend who works for the BBC who thinks it might be something of a major undertaking, so he wasn't all that optimistic.  As there were so many artists there, there would be a huge boxed set of dvd's to release.  He recommended being on the electric proms mailing list should there be a decision to release any music in the future.

On the other hand, if a lot of people contacted the BBC and asked for dvd performances, they might just consider releasing some ...... and if the artists threw their weight behind this too, it might be more likely. After all Nitin appeared on the tv this time round, and not just on the internet like in 2006, which seems to be a result of popular request.

Thankyou for you reply. The Electric Proms performance was one of a kind, I would be very sad to see this be lost time, and I feel it should appreciated more. I really like to see Nitin's collaborations with other artists. Do you think Nitin himself may be able to get his performances and include them on the video section of this site or on his Facebook?

I feel it would be great, but my feelings do not get round the practicalities.  I think that the BBC hold some sort of legal control over the Electric Proms and it would need negotiation, possibly of a legal nature, to release material.

I think it is possible that the televised programme might be shown again at some time.  I looked at the listings section of the Sunday Times and noticed that the Maddy Prior concert is being shown again on BBC4 this Friday, albeit as part of a folk night with (another) repeat of Folk Brittania, together with an earlier Maddie Prior concert (no doubt including Gaudete, which will get us into a festive mood).  

 So I will keep watching the BBC4 footage for any more Electric Proms repeats, including Nitin's gig.

I entirely agree with you that Nitin's work should be brought to a larger audience - I keep banging on about it and dragging people off to his gigs!
