    change of email address

I've just been told by my email provider that it will be discontinuing services by the end of the month.  At the moment I sign in with my current provider email address.  Will I have to reregister with a new email address or will this still be ok for signing into this site?

     Happy New Year to everyone.

    Re: change of email address

When you've got your new address sorted, log in as usual with original email address and password, click on "My Account", then click on "Edit my account settings". Delete original email address and enter new one. Enter original password to confirm changes and click "Submit".  You should then be able to log in using new email address.  If it doesn't work well, worst case scenario is that you have to re-register!  Is it really necessary though? I mean, does the log in procedure actually require a 'live' address?

Anyway, can you help me out and tell me, where on earth did I post the comment about "Pather Panchali"?

Can't remember where I put it.... my failing memory..... I actually came across a few posts that I totally forgot about posting!!

Ah, well anyway.... London-based forum users, the film is showing over at the Barbican next month, kicking off a Satyajit Ray "Directorspective".... made sure my ticketing needs were met as soon as I could but there's loads of seats available for all of the films.... if you're wondering why I'm mentioning this at all, perhaps YOU might have more luck finding that post...

    Re: change of email address

Thanks for the advice Buga.  Once I have done that have to get down to the tedious business of saving emails and unsubscribing and resubscribing to various things.

It took me a while to find it, but the thread you are looking for is in the General Section, General Music Discussion on Ek larki ko dekha here http://www.nitinsawhney.com/forums/thread/1715.aspx

    Re: change of email address

Why don't you create your new email account first and just forward all your emails from your old account or, create word docs for each category/sender and copy and paste email contents into these, rather than creating individual docs or.... hey, I'm being a right Miss Smartypants, aren't I!!!  Actually, since you've taken to sending me 'emails' in the form of PMs (my Inbox hasn't seen so much activity since the forum went through the big change!), why don't you just get all of your mates to register with the forum too and keep in touch with them that way?Lol

Thanks for finding the Pather Panchali thread btw.No wonder I couldn't find it!!!Wink

    Re: change of email address

Well Buga, the advice is very good, but not all of it is working.  In theory I should have been able to import all my addresses into my new account. But my old account isn't accepted for this.  Then my new account would only accept 10 contacts - fortunately an issue now resolved.  The old account won't export contacts anywhere, so I am still doing it manually.  In the process I have discovered one of my friends has changed his email address too! I might be finished sorting it out by the end of next weekend!

Anyway my new account is accepting emails so I don't have to resort to sending you pm's, My Nitin Sawhney and Facebook notifications have been switched to the new accounts, but I am still signing in with the old one as there doesn't seem to be a way round this - or not one that I can find. I don't suppose this is a problem anyway.

Somehow I don't think that I could persuade all my friends to join this forumLol

    Have a good weekend
