    Re: Problems Getting Registered???

We have indeed "been through the multiple Mr Sawhney thing " a multiple number of times. What's more, wasn't it Rosemary's idea to limit the alternative Nitins to one? And now she's suggesting that we fashion our own out of cardboard!!! Ah well.

At least it's more environmentally friendly, isn't it. After all, you'd be recycling an old box (I think that one about the size of a self-assembly wardrobe would probably be ideal, don't you?) and if, for whatever reason, it got worn out, you could just scrunch it up and stuff it into your compost bin! Oh yes, and a cardboard cutout Nitin Sawhney wouldn't need any electrical devices either!!! I'm not sure about dressing it up though, r ..... that's possibly going a little too far....

Anyway, perhaps Suggestion No.2 is not one of my better ones if your postman would have to leave it propped up outside your front door. What if it rains? It would just end up in a soggy heap on your doorstep and that really wouldn't be doing the man justice now, would it? No! If we go with Suggestion No.2, then we will all have to remove our front doors in anticipation that one of us might be next to get a special delivery from the Postie!

..... perhaps she is using the "Royal we"...

And I was only thinking of a one cardboard cut out at a time - nothing virtual about cardboard...... Anyway Buga you should have plenty of cardboard after unpacking all that stuff at work!

...... and perhaps that's why she calls herself 'r'!!!

Thanks for reminding me Rosemary - I DO HAVE SOME CARDBOARD!!!! Only trouble is..... I've got a feeling that the box in question is just a wee bit shorter than me and, I'm pretty sure that I am a wee bit shorter than the Man....OK, maybe more than a bit shorter.... probably about the height of his armpit... I digress. Anyway, yes, I might have enough cardboard if I use both sides of the flatpack box and rivet them together with some paperclips, then gaffertape the join (I've used this technique before to make some scenery and it held together!). Otherwise, it would have to be a short-arsed Mr. Sawhney and he may not take too kindly to that idea!!!!

    Re: Problems Getting Registered???

'we' simply meant you, me and rosemary, do you really think anyone else is going for it given the activity on the forum? although to be fair perhaps if it was advertised at one of his gigs where there are squillions of people there would perhaps be more cadboard cutouts waiting on doorsteps. You are right though, if today is anything to go by (that is the weather in London) he will be a soggy heap on the doorstep!!!

    Re: Problems Getting Registered???

actually soggy cardboard doesn't decompose very well in the compost bin, not if it is shiny on one side. .....

If Mr S makes it to Cardiff in the future, I would like to walk round Cardiff encouraging people to buy a ticket, so that he is sold out and comes back repeatedly. Most people have never heard of him - until they meet me that is .......

..... I'm sure that there would be a lot more activity, if people had the option!

(Wow! We're so close to being back on topic, it's spooky!!)

Anyway, clearly you are more in the know than I am, when it comes down to using the right stuff for the job, and likely to produce a far slicker cutout than I could possibly hope to whittle out of my old box collection.
But! This is a caring, sharing kind of forum, is it not? (OK - I might be something of an anomaly!!!) So, help me out here 'r' - Where in London, can I purchase "cadboard" ?!!!!!?

Well that settles it then! Matt surfaces only - we can't have Sawhney cutouts shiney on one side!!!!

Perhaps from an office supplies shop where they supply CAD (computer aided) tools and equipment, as used by the students on 3D Design and engineering courses. You might even get a 3D cutout model.

    Re: Problems Getting Registered???

I was thinking more the cravat-wearing kind of cad - you know - a la Terry Thomas? (Pity there is no cravat-wearing emoticon...)

Anyway, what, now you're talking about a 3 dimensional model instead of 2? Whatever next? Why stop at 3? Why not add on as many as you like and post your suggestion to the ever-brilliant Mr. Gormley .... he might just have enough cardboard for the job!

Really though Rosemary, I think that we should keep it plain and simple and stick with your original suggestion before we get carried away and end up in a lab somewhere attempting to grow a Nitin on the back of a mouse!

Nitin on a mouse? I don't think a 6 feet guy would fit on a mouse. OTOH he is on my computer wallpaper.

....and now you're beginning to worry me!!!! (Says me, dragging my mouse across a Nitin mousemat while I sit snug-as-a-bug in my fleecy Nitin-print pyjamas and Mr. Sawhney slippers, slurping tea out of my Nitin mug..... it's OK... I'm only joking about the mousemat!)

Doesn't Ganesh ride about on the back of a mouse? Not that I'm comparing......

I've just looked that up and found that Ganesh is thought to have ridden a rat (although it could have been a mouse or shrew).
And it's not clear whether he shrinks or the rat increases in size.

Any more of this shrinking, and we could be back to Nano Sawhney!

Round like a circle in a spiral. Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning on an ever-spinning reel.
Like a snowball down a mountain or a carnival balloon.
Like a carousel that's turning running rings around the moon.
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes on its face,
And the world is like an apple spinning silently in space,
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind.

Are we going round in circles, or are we on a downward spiral?!!!?
