London Undersound is available in vinyl and other formats as parts of the special boxed set - at a cost of nearly £50 . It may be available elsewhere but I found it at http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/7857497/London-Undersound/Product.html
A few 12" singles of Nitin's work are sometimes available at the rare and vinyl stockist suppliers www.eil.com, although at the moment they are out of stock of most stuff, but will put your name down on order.
I don't play vinyl myself these days - the only place I can play records is in the same room as the television, so music usually loses out to football. CD's are much more convenient to play in the kitchen whilst cooking food, or on a portable player round the house, or even the computer (must get some better speakers for this though).
I know quite a few people who still collect vinyl though, mainly because they do dj-ing. Until recently, when visiting one of them you had to climb over boxes and boxes of them to get into his living room. Very handy for sleevefacing too (www.sleeveface.com) I am glad to say that he now has shelves.
Possibly there are economic reasons for not releasing vinyl more widely. Nitin does dj-ing himself and released an album of his stuff remixed by others, so it is not that he undervalues dj-ing.
I can see myself reaching the day when I lament the demise of CD's in favour of downloads. Although it might solve my storage problems too! I have no such feeling for the cassette tape, now that really did have a short life, especially if played in car tape player. Anyway Buga, you missed something out on your list of alternative formats - pianola. Can you imagine a version of Tides on this instrument.
Hmmm edible formats - I wonder whether there might be some promotional mileage in this - free edible copy with money off voucher for CD, vinyl or downloads.
