    REVIEW OF PHILTRE

Hey Everyone, I just bought the Philtre EP 3 days ago on iTunes and I havnt stopped listening to it since. Its like a drug habbit

If you thought Beyond Skin was ace Philtre has now taken its place of Nitin's best album to date.

Philtre is magic as Nitin suggest how feels about his music. I suggest when u buy the album go in your room make sure no one distrubs you close your eyes and hit the play button. It will be like a magic trick is being played because thats what Philtre really is.

Genre such jazz, spanish flamenco, latino beats, soul, tabla beats and the rest are all there. I dont know anyman who can have so many genres mixed in with Indian flute and yet the recipe is right infact its more than right.

For me a star in the making well who is well on her way to stardom is Reena Bhardwaj. Her voice is like an Angel. Reena Bhardwaj also appeared on the Human album. Without her I dont think no one else could have done it. She is in a league of her own.

    Track 1 - Journey

A jazz track with soul with a soulful piano. Journey is a track which is reminsent to a track on beyond skin it goes back and fourth. Victor Duplaix has the voice that makes this track soulful and the Jazz element is just above the water.

Track 2 - Mausam (STANDOUT TRACK)

The flute plays a starring role in this beautiful track about life. But the main star is Reena Bharwaj with her soft, angelic voice on Mausam. She shares the track with Murtaza Khan who equally does his part in the song

For me the production is sheer class, the acoustic guitar can just be heard making it this track what it is.

    Track 3 - Dead Man

Dead man for me is like a Bollywood western movie soundtrack song with the exception of the sitar. Here we see Reena Bhardwaj & Jayanta Bose maximise this track. Buts its the crisp vocals of Fink that really captures Dead Man

Track 4 - Noches en Vela (Pt. 2)

I love this track, its different to what Nitin has done before. The production is so slick. The Spanish guitar is effective. This track is Spanish full with flamenco beats with a paste of Latino sounds

The track is fast and if this reaches clubs it will get you on the dance floor.

    The Search (STAND-OUT TRACK)

The search has been remixed by Ges-E check out www.nasha.co.uk. He is one talented producer/DJ i got the Eastern Drum & Breaks album pure Class

The Search is THE stand-out track by far and has to be the best Asian Underground track of the Year.

Its Tabla beats driven with soft drum n bass with a ice cool touch of Sitar which is just Amazing. The sitar in The Search take you to another world and back. The sitar in this track starts slow and mellow then speeds up to the tabla beats and drums.

But the real star of this track has to be the slick, sexy and ice cool vocals of Reena Bhardwaj. Only she could have made this track they way it has turned out no offence to the rest

As for Nitin well he really has made a master piece for me he is the Asian Joh Lennon musically and he has abit of Bono in him too

Philtre is the best album Nitin has produced. Cant wait to hear the tracks live. All the reviews I have read have given the thumbs up on Philtre.

Bring on the Philtre tour - cant wait for May 3rd 2005 @ Shepards Bush. Anyone else going?

You're obviously as passionate about Nitins music production prowess as I am.

I'm going and will be there on 3/05 too. Can't wait!

    Re: REVIEW OF PHILTRE

I would really love to go but the money monster is really biting me with avengeance at the moment so I'll have to be happy with the previews for a bit.... make sure you report back with all the passion and inspiration that I suspect you'll feel !
