    all mixed up

Fan from the very begining, I don't understand this album (all mixed up) ! Is it an accident ? I can't find any creativity, any point of interest. If someone had pleasure listening to it, please try to explain it to me. I am disappointed, still in a state of shock, my myth is falling appart.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

Shame you don't like the remix album. No explanation.... Just other people's interpretation of my work. I personally love what they did and find it highly intelligent, creative expression. It's more targetted at clubbers than my own work. Number 1 in dj magazine's breaks and beat charts is a tribute to their effort.

    Hope it grows on you.

    Cheers

    Re: all mixed up

I got into Nitin's music after hearing him play live at Herbalism, so I suppose I've always been a fan of the club remixes. While I love the older tracks- my favourite being nadia- I personally thought all mixed up was brilliant. I felt it delivered on what it was meant to be, essentially a clubbing take on some amazing tracks, literally being all mixed up. Loved it. Thanks Nitin.

    Re: all mixed up

i'm listening 'all mixed up' over and over - great album. I can't say that remixes are better or worse than original tracks - both are delicious! 'falling' in quantic mix is amazing. All remixers did perfect work - my contgratulations!

    Re: all mixed up

    Thanks for your answers,

I have to admit I didn't give many explanations on my disappointment, but it's difficult as I am neither a musician nor an artist. This is the reason why I posted this mail an Nitin's web site in order to get a constructive explanation.

I now understand this album is the natural evolution of Nitin's music approach. It's obvious this album has a real success, espacially clubbers. On the other hand, I realise I am not the only fan to be suprised (message from "disappointed of Dublin").

My lack of understanding came from the similarity of the album cover and from the communication announcing the album. I expected an album in the continuity of the previous albums mucical style. In fact, it's a style exercice. I guess it will grow on me.

See you at the next concert, even without the varied bunch of musicians from different continents and genres on stage.

    Re: all mixed up

    Hi dco,

    Thanks for your post.

Just thought I'd clarify a few things.

This is a remix album. It in no way is indicative of anything about me artistically, as these are other people's reworkings of my tracks.

In terms of my live gigs, I will continue to work with a full band of live artists from various backgrounds as I always have done.

What "disappointed of Dublin" saw was a dj gig with mysef and aref adding some tabla(check out the kind of thing on the "embargo" website for video streaming) and it was advertised as such. It seems, for whatever reasons, that "Disappointed" did not notice that this was a club gig, unlike the entire audience who gave me/us a fantastic and incredibly warm response. It seems that he/she made the mistake of thinking it was going to be a full band gig when it was clearly advertised and publicised to the contrary.

The artwork for "All mixed up" was deliberately quoting past album artwork on the sleeve to indicate that this was not a new album but reworkings by others of past tracks.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers.

Thanks a lot Nitin for your explanations and for your reactivity. I appreciate. It clears up my misunderstanding on your new album.

    Re: all mixed up

    Hi Nitin,

I recently saw you play at The Lounge in Melbourne and was blown away with the performance. Excellent stuff all together. Only thing I was hoping that you might be able to help me out with or some others out there is where I can get a copy of All Mixed Up on vinyl. If you or something else can point me in the direction of somewhere I can order it I would be most grateful.

    Thanks,
    Btec
