    Nitin Sawhney: Aftershock London

    http://www.rfh.org.uk/main/events/135163.html

"Over the last decade Nitin Sawhney has carved out a singular niche in Britain as a producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and cultural pioneer. Marking the start of a year-long South Bank Centre project in collaboration with other venues, Aftershock is artistically directed by Nitin Sawhney and brings together some of London's finest young musicians to work together over three days and produce a concert showcase with music and live visuals."

    Re: Nitin Sawhney: Aftershock London

    Mr. Sawhney,

I know that they're a clever and innovative lot over at the SBC but is it advisable for them to be tinkering around with time and making bits of it disappear? I'm referring to your Aftershock Concert ..... exactly! Where the hell is it? Or anything else that takes place before the 14th Sept.? What have they done and how did they do it? And how can we go to a gig if it's no longer "there"?

All that I know is, the link that I posted leads to nowhere so, it's pointless my sending it on to anyone anymore. I did get an email stating that there was going to be restricted access while they played about a bit with the decor in the foyer, although the Pimms/ G&T crowd needn't worry as they're keeping the refreshments flowing but, not a thing was mentioned about any performances, much less how to get in to see them! I shall just have to make sure that I've got my glass-cutter and sink plunger in my bag on the night.

Meanwhile, I shall drag myself down there later on this week, force myself to unwind for a few hours and then, if I don't get totally distracted by the amazing water feature I've heard about ( ), I'll endeavour to find out what is going on!

    Your bewildered Buga

    Re: Nitin Sawhney: Aftershock London

    Hi there,

The Aftershock London events won't begin until 2007, leading up to the opening of the revamped Royal Festival Hall. The plans around Aftershock have changed dramatically, hence the Purcell Room show is no longer happening. Later this week I'll have an update for everyone, whcih I will post on the News Section of the site.
