    Moonrise

    Hi,

Anyone's got the chords / tab / solo / whatever for Moonrise? I am also interested in the lyrics. Most of it (the part sung by Nina Rocha) is fair portuguese, but there are some parts which I don't understand (Hindi, Urdu).

If anyone's interested in a brief translation of the lyrics into English I can provide one.

    Thanks

    Re: Moonrise

I'm back! (Better late than never, eh).

Here are my chords for Moonrise - first I've listed the chord sequences and these are followed by the order in which they appear in the song, starting from when the guitar begins to play:

    1) Bm b5 sus4 6 / E / Am / F / E

    2) Am / Dm / E / Am

    3) Am / Dm / E / Am (twice as slow as sequence 2)

    4) Am / Dm / G / C

    5) A / Dm / G / C

    1 -
    2 (x4) - 3 (x2) - 4 - 1 - 5 - 1 -
    2 (x4) - 3 (x2) - 4 - 1 - 5 - 1 -
    2 (x4) - 3 (repeat until end)

I hope that made sense! By the way, the first chord (Bm b5 sus4 6) looks very scary but that's the way these online chord finders describe it - the notes are B, F, G#, D and E, and it's not too difficult to play on the guitar. I'm fairly confident about everything except the A chord - it doesn't quite sound right.

And by the way, what isn't in Portuguese I think is in Arabic (a Moroccan dialect).

    Re: Moonrise

....... or, quite possibly Algerian since it's the ( ops: sigh!) wonderful Cheb Mami singing.... Wow, boys, you should hear "Bledi" from his album, "Meli Meli". It's really beautiful ... and pretty straight forward to figure out guitar-wise, I'd imagine. One thing puzzles me, since a 'cheb' is a young male (f. cheba) and a 'cheikh' is a wise and/or revered (?) older man (f. cheikha), at what point will Cheb Mami become Cheikh Mami, or at least drop the Cheb, like Khaled? I mean, he's an amazing vocalist but, well, he's no spring chicken now, is he?!!?

Danoush, it's really great to see that you are still at it - judging from Mr. Sawhney's last post, you are going to have plenty more musical 'challenges' ahead of you! Keep those chord sequences coming!
