    can anyone please explain...

...the images Nitin uses for his performances. Not having had the opportunity to see a live show (or a dead one even) I'm very curious about the images chosen and what they bring to the performance. So if there is anyone out there who knows and cares to share that would be really appreciated..
    thanks

    Re: can anyone please explain...

    Hi calme,
We visited the last European gig (see post at 'touring') and could therefore have seen the images. A lot of the songs are accompanied by matching footage. It consists of animations, artistical photography and graphics and ofcourse also all kinds of "videoclips". One problem... the music is so allconsuming, so magnificent, so drawing the attention that one completely forgets to look at the videoscreen. Anyway, this doesn't answer your question at all
What images I did see? For instance:

I saw the present president Bush transformed to a dog with one song, saw footage of Blair alternating with glimpses of a clown (if I remember correctly) accompanying another. Those two where the most obvious political statements.
Then there were images of an Indian old man sitting in a busy street with lots of people rushing by, trying to gather some coins.
A clip of African children laughing and playing.
    An animation of figures moving.
An artistical clip of the figure of a ballerina (like the one you might know from those old musicboxes with the ballerina popping out, a childrens toy) mixed with colours.
The clip of Koyal, which you can also see on the site.
An animation of a human skeleton.

I can't remember which images belong to what song, but I hope this summing up gives you an idea. You might be able to match these descriptions to the setlist I also posted. For me some of the footage enhanced the musical experience, but... as I already said before... sometimes one forgets to look at the screen. I must admit I had to get used to that big screen directly above the stage, but I don't mind Nitin continuing playing with multimedia

    Cheers, Frieke

I get a picture from your descriptions (you would make a good 'Visually impaired desciptor') the images sound a little provocative and it sounds like the concert is like a whole experience rather than just the music. Do you leave a concert feeling any different from entering?
    yours in curiosity,
    calme

    a good 'Visually impaired desciptor'

wow, never thought of a carreermove in that direction I consider it a compliment that my writing can do something like that. I've always known I'm a girl who knows her way with words and it's nice to see the effect on you Calme.

As for your question: If a concert is any good at all I always come out feeling a bit different than entering. (Same goes for movies... e.g. did you ever see Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0211915/ Thats a film which stirs a lot of emotions.)
It was a multimedia experience indeed. Although, as you might suspect by now, I'm a kind of sensitive type myself and have my own visuals with songs, I really liked the interpretation of the songs given. I wonder, are these Nitins images, of does he ask artists to put his sounds into visuals?
I felt very good leaving the concert of Nitin; it's a bit like feeling in love, you feel warm, full of positive vibes and like you can conquer the world. I'm sure some people will read this and think its crap but hey, some people have just a little bit of imagination

    Keep the dream alive, Frieke
