    "Bamako"

I've been meaning to see this film since it started showing at the Curzon Renoir and Soho cinemas (missed out on Max Reinhardt DJing at the Soho - damn!!!) and finally got round to it this evening.

Set in an ordinary backyard in Bamako, the film follows a (sadly) fictional court hearing where the World Bank, WTO, G8 and IMF are put on trial for crimes of inhumanity against the people of Africa. As witnesses stand up and give evidence, the film also follows the lives and intimacies of the local residents, further illustrating the impact of trade injustice on a very personal level.
