So, I've been in London unexpectedly, sadly this weekend... but multiple silver linings including that I went to see 'The Namesake.'
(It's not out in Italy yet)
I liked the film very much, especially the moving between India and the US and the contrasts, differences high-lighted.
It was deeply moving in several places. I loved how, when your name comes up in the credits, we see a musical doll-like figure (a Saraswati figure?) and then it cuts to Ashima singing. That was
.
Interestingly, the music was very light in tone which fitted. Not subdued though and still deep and gutsy in places but light... I also found that the music when they visited the Taj Mahal brought back my own feelings about the place. As I write, actually, I'm thinking that the music you composed for the film, as a whole, had a similar energy to that of the Taj Mahal itself. Strong, deep, grand, powerful... yet majestic, light, beautiful... If you understand my meaning.
Well, I'd like to send you some stars in return but they don't seem to work
I would like to post an image as a visual thanks but I'm writing on my brother's lap-top....... I'm also aware that it's the cargo launch this week and I'd like to finish this poetically but the reason is actually very boring 'wish I could stay....'
