    Next album?

Can anyone tell me, about when the next album-release by Nitin is scheduled? Is it gonna be soon? Thank you for your help! Carl Smile

I also read 2008 somewhere. I also heard that Nitin is working with some new vocalists - some of whom he worked with for Aftershock but I imagine he'll work with his favourites also. I also heard somewhere that it'll be more orchestral and that theme-wise it's in response to the way London and its' consciousness has been affected after terrorist attacks.... something like that. (hence London Undersound) Maybe, the negative repercussions on the Asian / Muslim community particularly. I'm not sure if I read that or just imagined it. Anyway, 2008 is the time and I'm hoping early 2008 Wink

    Re: Next album?

More orchestral - ort new vocalists?  I know that he mentioned at Electric Proms that Imogen Heap would feature on the new album. I've just  been listening again to the Proms on the hard disk digibox recorder and Nitin mentioned that it would be about changes in London and did mention the terrorist attacks and how it affected one of his vocalists.  But whether there are other changes, I guess we will just have to wait and see.  He will be using the orchestra from the Proms - which happens to be called the London Undersound Orchestra.

I'm hoping it is not too late 2008 - too early and there is nothing to look forward to - too late and it is a long time to wait.  And that he will come at least as near as Bristol - somewhere I can get back

Anyway I''m going to get going and dye my hair plum and get ready for the expeditions - to see Throw of the Dice in Birmingham and then the trek to Norwich to see my parents.

Sorry for the double post - but I have more info.

During the after show talk at Birmingham, Nitin also mentioned he would be collaborating with Anoushka Shankar, Aqualung, Sir Paul McCartney and Getcapewearcapefly on the next album.

Cake A thought. I don't know how far into recording your next album you are.... I don't know how the process works either. Maybe you write a song and record it soon after. Or not. Anyways, I've just been listening to Anoushka Shankar's Breathing Under Water. I notice how lovely 7. Easy is. What about a song featuring both Anoushka Shankar and Norah Jones? Sleep

anyways, happy holidays to all Cake

Exclaim! here's something to amuse yourself  with Mr. S  Movie  and some  Coffee  in case it's cold  Surprise  and a  Right Hug i n case you're scared  Wink  Not sure if the stars on your post were for me BD but I appreciated them... Maybe one day I'll get over my striving for gold stars on my work (which harks from primary school days Mr. Green)

    Re: Next album?

I have to say (well, no, obviously I don't have to, but I'm going to anyway...) that "Void" scared the s--- out of me... not the kind of response I'd ever anticipated feeling towards the maestro's music but that track...I definitely give that one a miss!  And, on that jolly note...

Glad you like the stars - poor emoticons still grey around the gills I see!  While you're backtracking to your childhood, I'll throw you a couple of these as well...

                         aaaaa

You'd be less than..... ... err... sorry, I was still writing in Webdings!!!  You'd be less than chuffed if I'd written...

                                                 "Could do better!"

...or the comment that my old (OLD!!!) Geography teacher used to make about my handwriting.... although, I have to admit that he was right, unlike that vitriolic, satanic shedog*that was my English teacher... would've gleefully banished that evil harpy to some far-flung hellish void for nothing short of eternity.... eek!happy days!

Anyway, after a very, very quiet Xmas, I'm making a belated festive pilgrimage to my corner of Wales. Since you and Rosemary have dished out the seasons greetings in your native tongue, I've taken the liberty of cheating via an online translator, to come up with something entirely different...

Mai 'ch drwyno ddisgleiria 'n hoywach na fil Davey lampau fel 'ch trumplel 'n olau chwmpasa 'ch auntie's boten basn cara a 'n benchwiban ful i mewn spikey sodlau!

... yeah, working that out should keep you two busy .... amazingly though, Calme's nonsense word is the same in Welsh!!!

    Hope NY everybody!

    Re: Next album?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh! the void!  Nitin must have stepped out of his flat and fallen into it.  Someone rescue him quickly!

I've tried to update my avatar to be a fractal void - I have a load of pictures left from when I did a multisensory event on the subject, but I think they are too big.  Fractal voids, urban void, celestial void, you name it, I've got pictures.

Buga, I've put your message into a translator and it makes no sense at all.  What do dogs have in common with Davey lamps!  Rhian, thanks for your greetings. I think smiley faces are replacing golden stars.  But then the staff are now evaluated - well if it moves, evaluate it, seems to be the motto of most public service organisation.

Anyway I need to be off , I am making the reverse pilgrimage from that of Buga.  See you in the New Year.

    Re: Next album?

Oh, it is so good to be back in work, if only so that I can play with the computer at the end of the day!

Internet cafes are ok but my local one seems to have gone right down hill since I last had to venture in...bit like a dodgy sauna... right down to the grimy tongue and groove... which reminds me - Dogs!  Rosemary, I couldn't recall exactly what I'd written but I knew it had nothing to do with canines.  However, when I ran it through the online translator to convert it back to English, there was indeed the mentioning of both dogs and,  more bizarre still (yep, even by my standards) hearburn, several times in the translation.

"Fault ' dogs nose I shine ' heartburn more alert I do bill Davey lamps like ' dogs trumplel ' heartburn light I round ' dogs auntie's paunch basin I love I go ' heartburn giddy mule in spikey heels!"

Well, it got the lamp and the last bit right I suppose. This, is what it should've said,

"May your nose shine brighter than a thousand davey lamps as you trumplel lightly round your auntie's pudding bowl like a giddy mule in spikey heels!"

Think I'll stick with the more traditional greetings in future....

By now, no doubt, Carlgo et al will have given up on us ever, ever returning to his topic.  Sorry if we have caused anyone to pound their fists on their keyboards with frustration but this isn't just another of our typical meanderings... we are merely killing time while waiting for the release of the eagerly anticipated "next album".  Given a choice between twiddling thumbs and twiddling fingers, we've gone for the latter and this is the result - a diversion intended to steer your attention away from waiting so that, when it is finally released, why, it will feel as though you've hardly had to wait at all really.....

Maybe you could have a supplementary career selecting words for those magnetic poetry.  They don't just do poetry, I have some work related ones - you can make up some really nonsensical "businesspeak".  Just the thing for a hot August afternoon in the office .... especially now that we have exhausted listing all the songs we can think off that have a reference to "work" "job" or "careers" in the title. Idea I know - very sad.

As for the album... it would be nice to know but maybe there are contractual reasons.  It is more the tour I am concerned about, as I may need advance warning to clear my diary if there isn't a gig in the Cardiff or Bristol areas.  I am trying to get as many group work sessions on Fridays done to give myself a clear day there, as I don't have any other colleagues from the team in on that day.

You know how some people see their life flash before them before they die - well looking at my diary, it see my life flashing ahead of me!

I've tracked down another collaborator - Dean James.  If you scroll down to the bottom of this article www.monumentalmanagement.co.uk/artistsdeanjames.htm - you will see he is working on London Undersound.
