Buga is probably right in saying that Cheb Mami is singing in Arabic, since he is an Arabic speaker and I think I recognised the word "wahad" which means "one". Tina Grace is singing in Portuguese. One of the collaborators writing the song has a Portuguese name (can't quite make it out because I've left my reading glasses downstairs and the print on CD covers is very small).
I found the Portuguese words on a lyrics site:-
Nao fique triste
quando eu me apagar
vais partir da vida escura
veja a lua
veja a lua subindo
tomando o seu lugar
ondas de tristeza
para apre..
para apreciar
e assim um dia,
uma novela de paz
uma tempestade que trata as dores
nao despede um futuro
que ainda pode ser
os olhos no escuro
ainda podem
I tried running the words through Babel fish, but they didn't make much sense, FWIW here is the translation:-
It is not sad when to erase me to I you go to leave of the dark life it sees the moon it sees the moon going up taking its place sadness waves for apre. to appreciate e thus one day, a peace novel a storm that treats pains it does not fire a future that still it can be the eyes in the dark one still they can
Is there a Portuguese speaker on the site who can come up with a better rendition? Or Arabic speakers who could translate the Arabic lyrics?
