Overview
One of the pioneering albums of what came to be known as the 'Asian Underground'.
Migration was released exactly 50 years after Independence Day in India and Pakistan and reflected a myriad of British Asian migration experiences, echoing the life stories of several generations.
Incorporating Indian classical music with UK grooves, Migration was the first of many collaborations with some serious musical contenders and featured the awesome vocals of Jayanta Bose and Natacha Atlas.
Catapulting Nitin Sawhney into the spotlight it became the music of a second generation and was the first of many albums to be met with critical acclaim.
